With the increased popularity in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, we want to ensure that we can accommodate all players who want to experience the prerelease events as they are intended; to explore the brand new cards and experience playing these cards for the first time.
As such, we are choosing to offer prioritized Mega Evolutions prerelease event registration to competitors who regularly attend our Pokémon League sessions as listed in Section 3.3: Tournament Entry in the Play! Pokémon Tournament Rules Handbook.

What does that look like?
Our Pokémon League trainers may visit the store to prepay and pre-register with their Player ID, full name, and birth year for any or all of our three Mega Evolutions prerelease events.
Remaining prerelease slots are available on a first come, first served basis with each player's Player ID, full name, and birth year starting at:
- Friday, September 12 at 10:00 AM for our midnight, Saturday, September 13 prerelease event (hard cap limit of 28 players),
- Saturday, September 13 at 10:00 AM for our 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 13 prerelease event (hard cap limit of 28 players), and
- Sunday, September 14 at 12:00 noon for our 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 14 prerelease event (hard cap limit of 14 players plus any leftover kits from Saturday).
Mega Evolutions prerelease entry fee: $35 CDN (taxes included) per player, per event

Note: if any player does not stay for the pre-release event, their ability to register for any future pre-release events at our store may be forfeited.
Format: Limited - Sealed deck
F & C House of Cards will remain open throughout Friday evening until the conclusion of the Scarlet & Violet: Mega Evolutions midnight prerelease.
Deck building: Saturday, 12:00 AM
Round 1 start: Approximately 12:30 AM, or when all players are ready, whichever is earlier
Event format: Three rounds, age-modified Swiss round robin
Round format: Twenty (20) minute rounds, plus one turn lasting no more than ten (10) additional minutes (if necessary)
Prize distribution category: Casual - Three (3) Scarlet & Violet: Mega Evolutions booster packs will be provided to each player upon successful completion of the final tournament round. Any players leaving before the conclusion of the third round may forfeit any or all of these Scarlet & Violet: Mega Evolutions prize packs and may forfeit the ability to register for any future pre-release events at our store.
