ALL ABOUTWEINGUT CANTZHEIM

husband-wife team anna & stephan reimann are a pair of plant enthusiasts with advanced degrees and various experiences in farming and the wine business jumped at the opportunity to buy plots of land in german's famous saar subregion of the mosel.

on these plots they've renovated a baroque manor from 1740 where monks used to brew beer to further expand the culture surrounding wine including art, architecture, music and literature.within only 8 years under their belt anna and stephan have gained global attention to their wines and property.

about the tasting wines:

der gärtner dry riesling

firmly structured, with tart aromas of grated citrus fruits, earthy tones, and juicy at the same time. the grapes come from the steepest slate slopes of the southwest-facing kanzemer sonnenberg with a wonderful view of the saar.

der wiltinger dry riesling
the wiltinger - a riesling from mainly blue slate soil. made from hand-picked grapes from four wiltinger vineyards: the schlossberg, the schwertgraben, the braunfels and the klosterberg. fermented spontaneously together. the result is a riesling with a lot of minerality and slim, racy elegance with tart notes of lime zest. 90 points from robert parker!

der pinot blanc

a true wine of passion from anna's oenological training in france. the old fines come from somewhat richer soil with a high proportion of finely weathered slate. bitter to spicy aromas with well integrated acidity.

die gärtnerin

this wine and the first wine are a reference to stephan and anna aka the gardener and the gardeneress. easy to drink, great animation, juicy structure, bitter aftertaste that leaves you wanting more, as a versatile accompaniment to food or on its own.
