Why are some eyes blue and some brown? Do you know where a horse's knee is? And what is it really like to grow up in Liverpool?Meet the Scientists is back and in a new home! Come along to the Museum of Liverpool to discover more about the world around us, how our bodies work and what real life scientists at the University of Liverpool are doing to help us all be healthier and happier. Join us for a fantastic FREE drop in event that's fun for children of all ages, (and adults too!) Try your hand at our interactive activities, follow the treasure trail and be wowed by the wonders of science. Here is a taste of what you can expect:
? Furry Frontiers - From hooves to heartbeats, from furry friends and future vets, come and explore some paw-sitive discoveries happening right here in Liverpool! Can you find a dog’s heartbeat? Can you find the horse's knee? Might you have what it takes to become a vet? Come along and find out!
? Children Growing Up in Liverpool - Many of us call Liverpool home, but what does it mean to grow up here? And can living here play a part in our health and how we feel? The Children Growing Up in Liverpool study is following 10,000 babies and their families to understand how Liverpool can be a happier and healthier place for all of us.
Whilst you’re at the museum, why not check out the Children Growing Up in Liverpool pop-up exhibition to hear more about the exciting research happening right here in Liverpool!
? Gene-ius creations - We all have a genetic code that makes us unique - from the colour of our eyes and even the shape of our ears! See if you can copy the code faster than our cells and make your very own bracelet to take home.
See you at the museum!
