About this Event
This event is for those exploring postgraduate routes in art, design, architecture, communication, humanities and interdisciplinary practice. Learn more about how the RCA supports artists, designers and researchers to develop their work in an international context and what prospective students need to know about living and studying in London.
You’re invited to meet Peter Nencini (Senior Tutor, Visual Communication MA) and Charlie Smith (Events Officer ) in Manchester for an in-person conversation about studying at the RCA.
What to expect
Tuesday 3 March 2026
Portfolio workshop, 5.30-6.15pm
A 45 minute workshop to develop and improve your portfolios whether they are ready to submit or a first draft. Prepare one or two digital pages (research and process) to bring to the session.

You don't have to specialise in any discipline to attend this event: we welcome guests planning to apply to all subject areas.
Due to the postgraduate nature of RCA study, all attendees must be over 18.

About the host
(Senior Tutor, )
Peter is a maker and educator, interested in the stories absorbed by objects as they fall in to and out of use.
He is a Senior Tutor in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art, having previously taught at Camberwell College of Arts, Norwich University of the Arts and Chelsea College of Art & Design. He has given guest talks and workshops at Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design Valence, Sint-Lucas / Vooruit Ghent and Pratt Institute New York.
