Chris Smith is the Chief Meteorologist and founder of Panhandle Weather. You might recognize Chris from his 16 years as Chief Meteorologist at a local TV station in Panama City Beach, where he guided viewers through everything from Hurricane Michael to the Ice Storm in 2014. Before that, he forecasted for CNN, CNN International, and HLN—bringing weather coverage to viewers around the globe. A proud graduate of Florida State University’s renowned meteorology program, Chris holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval and is recognized by the American Meteorological Society as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist—the first and only meteorologist in Northwest Florida to earn that distinction.
