About the Maker: Laurent Sarazin

As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Laurent Sarazin has overseen all sales and marketing activities for Schramsberg Vineyard’s exclusive portfolio of mèthode traditionnelle sparkling wine and estate table wine since August of 2001. He spearheaded the development and launch of J. Davies Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon and J. Schram Rosé prestige sparkling wine. Recently, Sarazin completed the repositioning and repackaging of the entire product line. Laurent was in charge of the remodeling of the winery visitor center in 2008 – upgrading and doubling the size of the facility. He has also been instrumental in the development of direct to consumer sales. In 2007 Laurent chaired the Marketing and Promotion Committee of the Napa Valley Vintners.

A native of Lyon, France, Sarazin holds his bachelor’s degree in International Marketing from the Insitut des Hautes Etudes Economiques et Commerciales in Bordeaux. He completed graduate coursework in International Marketing and Consumer Behavior at San Jose State University in California.

Prior to joining Schramsberg Vineyards, Sarazin served as Western Regional Manager for the Dallas-based Martin Sinkoff Wines where he played a pivotal role in the American launch of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

Sarazin has also served in the United States as the sales promotion manager for SOPEXA (the marketing and public relations arm of the French Ministry of Food and Agriculture), where he produced promotions for French cheeses, wines and Champagnes. As the National Sales Manager for Victoire Imports Company, Sarazin was responsible for the sales and marketing of numerous French wines, spirits and Champagnes. His career has also included stints with Site du Vin, Inc. and the San Francisco French Consulate, in addition to numerous internships with top French companies in both the United States and France.

Sarazin enjoys living in the Napa Valley with his wife and two children.
