This past Wednesday, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Ben from Murder Hill. For those who may not know, Murder Hill is a newer addition to the neighborhood, established in 2024 by Ben and his wife, Adrienne. We will be adding a Murder Hill oatmeal stout to our lineup tonight! This stout is brewed with Valley Golden Pale Malt, roasted barley, and Thrall Family Oats, resulting in a toasty flavor profile with notes of coffee and chocolate—smooth and delicious.I always enjoy learning from fellow local business owners, especially when it comes to sustainable practices and integrity in sourcing. Not everyone recognizes the lengths artisans go to in order to create high-quality products, but the Uxlocale community definitely appreciates it. It's also reassuring to see that, even in these challenging times, others are committed to giving their all to provide something unique. Even subtle differences in ingredients can make a significant impact. I hope you can join us for this event and remember to support small businesses whenever possible.
We'll be hosting a "Meet the Brewer" night with Ben on Thursday, January 9, 2025! The event will feature a mini-tap takeover with three beers available for tasting, as well as the chance to chat with the brewer and learn about the brewing process.
I'm always eager to learn about processes and ingredients. I recently discovered that our grain source comes from MA, CT, VT, and NY, which excites me as I look to expand my bread-baking skills. I might even whip up some breadboards to accompany the tasting and the "Meet the Brewer" event, so stay tuned for more updates!
