EN/J.M. Coetzee has received more awards than he has written books, and he has written many. He won the Booker Prize twice and in 2003 received the Nobel Prize in Literature. Now we can at last celebrate him in Brussels, too. He will give a lecture and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) will award him an honorary doctorate. A unique opportunity to listen to one of the world’s most influential authors in person.
This evening is organized by Passa Porta, De Munt / La Monnaie, VUB and Uitgeverij Cossee.

J.M. Coetzee kreeg meer bekroningen dan hij boeken schreef, en hij schreef er véél. Hij won o.a. twee keer de Booker Prize en ontving in 2003 de Nobelprijs voor literatuur. Eindelijk kunnen we hem ook in Brussel vieren. Hij geeft er een lezing en de VUB reikt hem een eredoctoraat uit. Een unieke kans om een van ’s werelds invloedrijkste auteurs live mee te maken.

L’écrivain J.M. Coetzee a sans doute reçu plus de prix qu’il n’a écrit de livres. Il a notamment reçu deux fois le Booker Prize et en 2003 le prix Nobel de littérature. Dans le cadre de la remise de son titre de docteur honoris causa par la VUB, l’auteur de Disgrâce vient donner une conférence. Une occasion unique de venir écouter l'un des écrivains les plus influents au monde.
