Join is as we are proudly introducing our Fall Artist-in-Residence recipient, Cesar Inostroza! Cesar is a first-generation American raised in El Paso’s Segundo Barrio, Cesar has faced challenges that shaped his resilience, vision, and creative fire. These experiences form the foundation of his work, inspiring murals that explore identity, perseverance, and positive self-expression while honoring the strength and spirit of community.
Cesar is the creator of some of El Paso’s most iconic public artworks. Renowned for his large-scale murals, he uniquely blends 3D sculptural relief with glass mosaic, wood, cementitious materials, and architectural design—proving that passion, dedication, and hard work can transform vision into lasting impact.
Cesar has been selected to feature his 3D mural work here at Chamizal National Memorial, where he will share the Chamizal story and the rich culture of the borderlands through his art.
This is a great opportunity to ask Cesar questions about the installation and how his lived experiences, along with the park story, contribute to the mural. You will also learn about the Artist in Residence program at Chamizal National Memorial and how it will enrich the parks mission through art.
