About Melinda
Melinda is a nationally recognized gardening expert who has authored over 20 gardening books, including Midwest Gardener’s Handbook, 2nd Edition, MN & WI Month-by-Month Gardening, Jackson & Perkins Beautiful Roses Made Easy (Midwestern Edition), Small Space Gardening and many more. She hosts the nationally syndicated Melinda’s Garden Moment segments which air on over 115 TV and radio stations throughout the U.S. She is also the host of the nationally distributed Great Courses “How to Grow Anything” instant video and DVD series. She’s a contributing editor and garden columnist for Birds & Blooms magazine, writes a nationally syndicated garden column, and has been a garden columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for over 25 years.
She hosted “The Plant Doctor” radio show on WTMJ for over 20 years and 7 seasons of “Great Lakes Gardener” on PBS. Melinda is a recipient of the national American Horticultural Society’s B.Y. Morrison Communication Award, has over 30 years of horticulture experience, is a certified arborist, has a master's degree in horticulture, was a tenured horticulture professor, and is a dynamic presenter.
