The Bemidji Public Library presents a Q&A with author and artist Tashia Hart on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2 PM at the Bemidji Public Library. Tashia Hart is a writer and artist from the Red Lake Nation of Anishinaabe in northern Minnesota. Her literary works include fiction and nonfiction for adults and children, including “The Good Berry Cookbook”, “Native Love Jams”, “Gidjie and the Wolves” and “Girl, Unreserved”. In addition to her illustrative work, she is a jewelry maker working in beads and birch bark and some metal work. The library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It offers a wide range of services, including WIFI, fax, printing, copying, and a legal kiosk. All Bemidji Public Library events are free and open to the public regardless of library membership or card status. This program, and many others, is made possible through the Minnesota Legacy Amendment which supports the arts, culture, and heritage of Minnesota.
