Who’s ready for another Meet & Three concert? This month’s lineup promises a dynamic evening showcasing three distinct voices in today’s vibrant independent music scene: Lizzie No, Trevor Dalrymple of Pretty Jane and Secret Gardens.
Singer-songwriter, harpist and guitarist Lizzie No made her mark with the 2017 release of “Hard Won,” a debut Billboard called “simultaneously understated and fervent.” She followed with the benefit single “Sundown,” in support of Black Lives Matter, and the narrative-rich second album “Vanity,” praised for its vivid character storytelling and inventive arrangements. No has toured with Iron & Wine, Adia Victoria, Ron Pope and others, and has appeared at Newport Folk Fest, South by Southwest and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Her work has also been interpreted in classical arrangements, including performances at the Louisville Orchestra’s Festival of American Music.
Emerging Nashville-based vocalist Trevor Dalrymple brings his intimate, genre-defying sound as part of the trio Pretty Jane, known for blending alternative, indie and pop influences into emotionally charged music. Born in Detroit and rooted in Nashville’s creative community, the band’s tight-knit chemistry stems from its unique origin story and shared commitment to honest expression. They have drawn attention for singles such as “Stand So Close” and “Quiet,” earning millions of streams and acclaim for their lyrical depth and immersive live performances. Their music’s themes of connection and longing have helped build a devoted following.
Secret Gardens is the guitar-driven post-rock project of New York-based musician Greg Almeida. The project has spent years crafting a tetralogy of albums that sonically embody the four seasons: “Tundra” (winter), “Everbloom” (spring), “Verão” (summer) and the latest release, “The Impermanent Amber” (fall). Almeida’s sweeping soundscapes, often compared to a fusion of Death Cab for Cutie, Explosions in the Sky and Plini, offer a richly textured journey through mood and time. Notable collaborations include artists from Dance Gavin Dance, Transit and Royal Coda, and Almeida also performs as the live guitarist for post-hardcore band A Lot Like Birds.
This Meet & Three promises an unforgettable night of heartfelt songwriting, exploratory sound and compelling performances. Don't miss this ideal opportunity to experience three rising artists pushing the boundaries of contemporary music.
