Singer and songwriter Meera won the Indies Award for the Best Female Vocalist in India in 2020. With a background in jazz, classical, and Hindustani classical, her lyrical songwriting style and open compositions stem from her inspirations - artists such as The Swell Season, Joni Mitchell, and Norah Jones.
Playing a combination of original music and jazz, the Meera Desai Collective experiments in lyrical folk and jazz and has been releasing original music with producer Raag Sethi since 2019. The group is a meeting of passionate and diverse musicians involved in India's contemporary jazz scene, focusing on finding and creating beauty in subtle ways.
