When a colorful and disparate collection of guests is summoned to the remote Carlisle mansion, things begin to go bump in the night.
The host is missing and a medium brought in to conduct a séance is DEAD. What else could go wrong?

Performers and certain offstage production volunteers must be available for all tech week rehearsals and all performances.
PLEASE LIST ALL POTENTIAL DATE SCHEDULE CONFLICTS ON THE ONLINE FORM. Please take care to complete this section in full. Casting and staffing decisions and rehearsal schedules are based in part on this information.
Rehearsals:
There will be up approximately 15-20 rehearsals for this production, plus tech week and performances. The exact rehearsal schedule is to be determined, but rehearsals are usually 2 weekday nights per week, from approximately 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. There is the possibility of some Sunday evening rehearsals and some weekend daytime rehearsals.
The rehearsal schedule intensifies as opening night draws closer. Tech week rehearsals can run later into the evening.
No experience is necessary. All roles are open. This is a non-paid performing and volunteer opportunity. Certain offstage production volunteer positions receive a nominal stipend.

For Performers:
This is a full, memorized CWP Black Box Production.
NOTE: Actors should be comfortable with the possibility of an onstage kiss in this production.
AVAILABLE ROLES:
IONA: 20’s – 50’s. The recently hired maid at Carlisle Manor. She is also filling in the roles of butler and cook. Wears an apron with many pockets. Fidgety. Thick Irish accent.
RONALD ZUCCO: 40’s – 60’s. A businessman. His suit and tie are a bit tight for him. Acts the gentleman, but rough edges of his personality slip though.
EVELYN HAYWARD: 20’s to early 30’s. Attractive in that innocent, heroine/damsel-in- distress kind of way. Never loses her sweet composure.
GRACE GAINES: 30’s - 60’s. A southern lady who organizes charities.
DANNY DUNKLE: 30’s – 40’s. Semi-famous vaudevillian and radio comedian. Quick-witted, but doesn’t know when to quit.
SIMON MILFORD: 30’s – 40’s. Pencil thin moustache. Debonair, with a touch of something shady.
MADAME LABONZA: 30’s – 50’s. An eccentric medium. Eastern European accent. Wears a colorful turban.
PERFORMERS - WHAT TO PREPARE:
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, which will be provided at the audition. Actors may also prepare an optional short monologue if desired.
All are welcome and encouraged to audition, regardless of prior experience, ethnicity, disability or identity.
Offstage Volunteer Opportunities:
Note - in addition the the time commitments described below, all production team members will be asked to attend periodic production meetings by Zoom.
Associate Producer: 18+
Experience preferred but not required. Relevant experience includes performing, stage managing, directing or producing at Carrollwood Players or a similar background.
Time Commitment -
Attend approximately one rehearsal per week throughout the production process until tech week. Attend set build or set dress day. Attend most of tech week and opening night. Not required to attend all performances. Additional flexible time working from home. A home computer/laptop and internet connection is a must.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The perfect person will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, strong and effective people skills, outstanding time management and the ability to use creativity and resourcefulness to meet deadlines and get things done.
The Associate Producer works closely with the Producer or Managing Director to ensure all producer responsibilities are met.
Must be a passionate, reliable, motivated self-starter who will go the extra mile to achieve results while supporting an extremely positive and professional environment for our valued volunteers.
Specific responsibilities will include assisting with:
Communicating with directors to compile rehearsal schedules for productions.
Briefing directors on Carrollwood Players policies and procedures.
Creating and managing online forms and spreadsheets.
Helping to facilitate auditions.
Briefing casts and crews on Carrollwood Players policies and procedures.
Facilitating production meetings with directors and key production staff.
Facilitating publicity photo shoots.
Providing oversight, troubleshooting and support at rehearsals.
Providing support for sourcing of production needs including set pieces, props, and costumes.
Monitoring production spending and assisting with reimbursement processes.
Providing oversight and support on set build and set dress days.
Communicating with casts and crews to encourage promotion of shows.
Managing cast and crew information and processes including comps, bios and audience ballot details.
Compiling production information for playbills.
Other support tasks as needed.
Stage Manager: 18+
Experience preferred but not required. Nominal stipend.
Time Commitment:
Attends auditions and most rehearsals prior to tech week. Must attend all tech week rehearsals and performances.

A stage manager must be a passionate, reliable, motivated self-starter who will go the extra mile to achieve results while supporting an extremely positive and professional environment for our valued volunteers. Must work well with people of all ages, including children.
Specific responsibilities will include assisting with:
Facilitating auditions and assisting the director during the audition and casting process, including reviewing and organizing conflict information during casting.
Arriving at least 15 minutes prior to each rehearsal to unlock the building, turn lights on, set up any rehearsal furniture and props. Remaining at the end of each rehearsal to turn off lights, empty trash, police the rehearsal area for trash/lost items, put furniture away, lock up, etc.
Acting as the point of contact for all cast and crew members regarding attendance and punctuality at rehearsals and performers.
Communicating rehearsal schedules, call lists and times and schedule updates to all cast and crew.
Acting as the director's "scribe" during all rehearsals, taking detailed blocking notes plus any notes regarding tech, prop or costume needs expressed by the director.
Providing blocking information to cast members who missed a rehearsal.
Staying "on book" during rehearsals to provide line calls when requested by cast.
Taking detailed line notes and providing them to the cast when appropriate.
Managing backstage areas, prop tables, dressing rooms, etc. and working with the director to develop plans for any scene changes prior to tech week.
Enforcing rules of the house as provided by producers, including general housekeeping, ensuring cast and crew remain in assigned rehearsal areas, no-guest policy, etc.
Championing an atmosphere of professionalism and positivity among all participants throughout the rehearsal process. Monitoring for inappropriate behavior and offstage drama and enlisting the aid of producers when necessary.
Recruiting an Assistant Stage Manager and backstage crew if necessary to ensure all stage management responsibilities are covered at all rehearsals and performances.
"Running the show" from backstage during tech week rehearsals and all performances, including creating and monitoring a sign in sheet, providing call times to cast, crew and front of house, organizing and managing all scene changes, prop placements, quick changes, curtain pulls, etc.
Coordinating with front of house to ensure all performances begin no later than 5 minutes after the scheduled performance time.
Costumer: 18+
Experience required.
Time commitment -
Attend first read through rehearsal and additional early rehearsals to meet, measure and assess and complete a plan for costumes for each cast member.
Attend rehearsals periodically prior to tech week for fittings, etc. Attend tech week rehearsals as needed to deliver all final costumes no later than Tuesday of tech week. The costumer is not required to attend performances.
The costumer will work closely with the director to bring the director's vision to life.
Must work within a tight budget and be capable of sourcing costumes from theatre's existing stock and/or other inexpensive methods, including borrowing pieces from other resources with producer assistance.
Sewing and alteration skills are a must.
Must be capable of delivering the director's vision in a timely manner. We shop at thrift stores, we borrow items, and in some cases, we build items from scratch. This opportunity requires creative thinking outside the box and resourcefulness.
The costumer may recruit volunteer helpers if necessary.
Props Coordinator: 18+
No experience required.
Time commitment -
Flexible schedule, attends some rehearsals prior to tech week, attends some tech week rehearsals to ensure all props are delivered. Optionally, may work performances, but not required.
The props coordinator must be an extremely creative and resourceful individual capable of sourcing all required period props for this production.
This process includes a combination of pulling props from theatre's existing stock, finding props inexpensively within a tight budget, borrowing props, and in some cases, building props.
The props coordinator works closely with the director to develop a prop list and deliver props that meet the director's vision for the show.
Set Dresser: 18+
Experience preferred.
Time Commitment -
Attends early production meetings as needed to work with the director and set builder to develop a set design and a plan for the painting and dressing of the set.
Attends and runs set dress day, supervising volunteers to ensure that the set is painted and dressed to fulfill the director's vision. May need to return to complete unfinished portions of set during daytime hours or late night hours between set dress day and tech week/opening.
The set dresser must work within a tight budget and be capable of creating a stage set for the production mostly using theatre's existing furniture and materials and using creativity and resourcefulness to source any additional needed materials.
Previous set dressing experience is highly preferred.
The set dresser must be willing and able to supervise volunteers on set dress day and possibly additional days to ensure the set is completed on time.
Light and Sound Operators: 14+
No experience required.
Time Commitment -
The light and sound operators attend at least one rehearsal prior to tech week to watch the play.
They are required to attend all tech rehearsals and performances.
The light and sound operators operate our light board and sound cue app during tech week rehearsals and performances, bringing the stage to life with the lighting and sound required for the production. NO experience is required and operating the light and sound cues requires focus, but is easy and fun!
This production also has opportunities for volunteers who would like to assist with many of the tasks listed above. We need set build help, set painting and dressing help, light crew to help with positioning lights, costume assistants, etc. You can apply to help using the offstage volunteers form.
All performers wishing to audition and all volunteers wishing to fill an offstage production volunteer opportunity MUST complete the appropriate online form(s) IN ADVANCE of the audition dates.
