About this Event

ELIGIBILITY:

This program provides fundamental training for Medicolegal Death Investigators, Coroners, Medical Examiners, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Paramedics/EMT, Physicians, Nurses, Attorneys, Forensic Scientists, Funeral Directors and Embalmers. If you have any questions about whether you qualify, please contact the Education Committee ([email protected]) before registering. Limited to 24 participants and you must attend the entire course.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This unique 3-day course covers fundamental topics of forensic pathology, examination, photographing and documentation of death scenes; evidence recognition, preservation and collection; and decedent identification. Participants will enhance their knowledge by conducting investigations of dynamic mock scenes. The mock scenes are interactive and require participants to role play.

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION CREDITS:

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint provider ship of Case Western University School of Medicine and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office. Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 21.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

The ABMDI accepts continuing education that is approved by the AMA, ANA, ABA, POST, and post secondary institutions recognized by national educational accrediting agencies.

CLE credits are available and pre-approved by the Ohio Supreme Court and sponsored by Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

FEE:

The fee for this 3-day course is $350. Fee includes refreshments, lunches, course materials, and Continuing Education Credits. 

 

PAYING BY PURCHASE ORDER:

If you need to pay by purchase order, please contact the Education Committee ([email protected]) for details. Purchase order registrants have to be manually registered for the course by CCMEO. 

 

REFUND POLICY:

All requests for refunds must be made in writing and received three weeks before the course. The registration fee minus a $50 processing fee will be refunded after the course.
