About this Event
You've learned the foundations. Now you build the apothecary.
Medicine Crafts Collective Level 2 is a 3-session intensive for students ready to move beyond teas and tinctures into the full home medicine cabinet. This is where plants become a working apothecary, and where we step outside the classroom to meet the medicine where it grows.
What You Will Learn and Make
- Salves and balms — Use a master batch of infused oil to craft a wound-care salve and a warming muscle rub
- Syrups and herbal honeys — Elderberry syrup, herbal honey, oxymels, with a deep look at shelf life, preservation, and safe dosing for families
- Oil infusions — Solar and low-heat method, taught hands-on during our field day with plants you harvest yourself
The Field Day is Required
On Saturday May 23, we gather outside the city for a live wildcrafting walk on private land. A skilled guide leads us through plant identification and ethical harvest. We bring the plants back to the table and start our own oil infusions using what we harvested together. We eat together. We graduate together.
The field day is a required part of Level 2. It is where the series culminates and where you earn your certificate. Meeting location is approximately 1.5 hours from central Houston. Students provide their own transportation. Closed-toe shoes, a hat, water, and a basket are required.
Schedule
- Tuesday May 12, 6-8 PM — Class 1: Salves and Balms ($80)
- Tuesday May 19, 6-8 PM — Class 2: Syrups and Honeys ($80)
