Our Keynote Speakers:

Dr. Anas Al-Kassem

Dr. Al-Kassem is a trauma and bariatric surgeon practising in Canada. Dr Al-Kassem received his MD in Damascus, Syria, completed his general surgery training at the University of Ottawa, and his clinical fellowship in trauma at Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary. He was offered the position of Trauma Team Leader at the Civic Hospital at the University of Ottawa as a result of his leadership skills in the field. Dr. Al-Kassem extended his surgery skills and expertise by earning an MIS/Bariatric Surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. Dr. Al Kassem has also been active in many humanitarian organizations. He initiated an electronic data registry system employed in trauma hospitals across Syria and continues to be involved in surgery missions to over 80 hospitals in the war-torn country. He is a co-founder of UOSSM and serves as the Vice-Chairman of UOSSM-Canada.

Dr. Omar Rafai

Dr. Rafai is a driven Healthcare Professional and a Medical Business Leader. He is the Founder and CEO of RIFAI Medical Solutions, a medical business development consulting company, as well as a Board Member of the Medical Business Leaders Community. Dr. Rafai has a unique professional journey that is deep-rooted in his advocacy for understanding the “why” and promoting a logical, systematic, and data-driven approach to decision making.

Dr. Rafai is a Naturopathic Doctor by training, with a special focus in Integrative Endocrinology and Cardiovascular disease management. He obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2015 and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2019. Dr. Rafai also completed two exclusive externships in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Duke Health in North Carolina, USA, and Thyroid & Hormones Endocrinology Center in Ontario, Canada.

In addition to his Naturopathic medical practice, Dr. Rafai has extensive experience leading innovative medical projects as well as working in clinical research operations and business performance analytics within the Pharmaceutical Industry. He leverages his wide array of business skills in Healthcare and his data analytics and visualization expertise to accelerate performance and drive business excellence, utilizing cutting-edge tools like Power BI, Veeva CTMS, Citeline Trialtrove, Spotfire, and Shiny.

Nadim Sohail

Nadim is a data analytics and AI leader with 20+ years of exclusive experience in setting up and evangelizing enterprise-level data and analytical practices. He is proficient in managing and delivering large scale Enterprise IT Solutions across the world using Digital, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud. He has a proven ability to establish digital data capabilities from ground up, lead top performing teams, manage multiple opportunities concurrently, and spearhead innovation.
