Media Making Playground for Teachers

Join us at the Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle for an evening of hands-on media creation, inspiration, and collaboration at the Media Playground! This exclusive event is designed for K-12 educators across Michigan and offers the chance to:

• Explore our new media kits: Get hands-on with mobile media making gear, iPads, 360 cameras, and podcasting equipment—tools you can rent for free to use in your classroom.
• Get inspired: Visit our interactive PBS content stations, including themes like Science Journalism, Documentary Storytelling, and more. Discover new ways to integrate media education into your curriculum.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers: At our Project Pitch Station, brainstorm and submit ideas for media projects and become one of the first to use the new media kits.
• Network & connect: Meet educators from across the state, share ideas, and join the LABS community, a digital platform designed for Michigan educators to connect, collaborate, and pilot new content.

Light refreshments and beverages will be provided. We'll have lots of printed resources and fun giveaways, too!

Parking & Venue Information:
Free parking is available at the Great Lakes Museum. The event will be held throughout the museum space, with multiple interactive stations set up for you to explore. A State of Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry on Belle Isle.
