About this Event
Vietnam Medal of Honor Recipients Share their Courageous and Inspiring Story
When: Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11:00 a.m. HST
Where: Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum in the Hangar 37 theater
Who: All are welcome!
Join Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum in welcoming two Medal of Honor Recipients, Major General Patrick Henry Brady and Colonel Jack Howard Jacobs, for a special panel discussion about their courageous acts of valor.
Brady was a UH-1 “Huey” Medevac helicopter pilot, known in the battlefield as “Dust Off.” He quickly earned a reputation as one of the most skilled and courageous Dust Off pilots in Vietnam. With the 54th Brady became a specialist in combat pickups at night, in poor weather, and under fire, using many techniques never before used in combat.
Jacobs was deployed to the Republic of Vietnam. Initially he wanted to be sent with his unit, the 82nd Airborne, but was chosen instead to go as an Advisor. While serving as assistant Battalion Adviser, 2d Battalion, 16th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division, he was stationed in Kien Phong Province advising a South Vietnamese Battalion.
Hear more of their story and the events that led them to receiving the nation’s highest medal of valor in combat in our panel discussion.
Book signing will follow. Books will be available for purchase at our Museum Store
