James is passionate about supporting riders to achieve their goals through thoughtful, individualised coaching. Simulator sessions are tailor-made to each rider, focusing on developing balance, coordination, symmetry and confidence in a controlled and pressure-free environment.
Drawing on experience competing across the three main disciplines, James blends traditional training principles with modern coaching methods and a clear, simple approach. His academic background underpins every session, ensuring coaching is evidence-based while remaining practical and accessible.
James’ experience includes coaching at one of the largest riding schools in the South of England, working with a wide range of horses and riders from leisure cobs to competitive showjumpers and eventers, coaching for Pony Club, lecturing in equine studies, and training alongside world-class coaches and riders including Christopher Burton, Jo Winfield and many more.
Committed to continued professional development, James holds a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management, a BSc (Hons) in Equestrian Sports Coaching, an MSc in Sports Coaching and is currently enrolled in the British Show Jumping Step Up Your Coaching programme, always seeking to bring the latest developments in the industry to his clients.
The Racewood Eros Simulator sessions at Bicton College provide a structured, effective way to improve rider position, awareness and confidence — whatever your level or ambition.
