Calling all Halloween houses! If you plan on decorating and/or handing out candy this Halloween, be part of the Meaford Haunted Candy Route!
But why be included on a map, you ask?
Meaford has some large front lawns, spaced out houses, and many homes that don't participate in Halloween at all. Help trick-or-treaters find you easily.
We started in 2020 because it was a crappy year. Covid ruined a lot of fun for everyone, especially kids. We decided to make a contactless candy route map so that those who wanted trick-or-treaters could have them swing by and get candy safely. We saw some amazingly creative ideas from the community that year, like candy chutes.
Since returning to normal we've decided to keep the map going due to an overwhelmingly positive response. We also decided to add an accessibility feature to the map by highlighting which houses are wheelchair accessible (eg. No stairs or curbs to reach a doorbell).
