Carrying a firearm for duty or self defence comes both with advantages and risks. Any skills you choose to use requires confidence that they can be applied in high-risk high-pressure scenarios. Utilising FX for force-on-force exercises quickly lets students know what skills work and what skills work and what skills fail against committed resisting opponents.
It will be a benefit but not essential if you have attended the Monday evening MDW retention and access class
Thursday 28 May 17h00-20h00
Functionalising drills
Drilling for demonstration purposes vs combative purposes require both an mental and physically different approach.
Drilling for combat serves to develop attributes, timing and recognition skills focused on applying techniques into combat exchanges. Ensuring that drilling skills remain congruent with their actual use in self defence and or combative situations requires that students understand the context of their application. In this workshop we will utilise both traditional and “modern” drill examples to explore the elements that keep drills and their application combat relevant.
