ABOUT THIS EVENT

COLD CASE CRACKERS ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE THE ROLE OF A DETECTIVE TEAM. Participants will try to crack a case that was never solved. On April 18th, detectives will be tackling the Fairlake Bank Heist Case.

MOVE THROUGH THE PHASES OF YOUR INVESTIGATION. This case will be solved by achieving investigation goals given to participants on phase cards. Each phase and task are different, but all are crucial in solving the case. The game requires live action detective work and includes twists and turns you never see coming.

USE THE DOZENS OF DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS ALONG THE WAY. The evidence includes floor plans, blog posts, suspect profiles, photos, witness statements, interview transcripts, and much more. Participants never know what piece of evidence you may need or when you will need it. The team of investigators will have to have a keen wit and observant eyes.

ONLINE CODES AND AUDIO CLUES WILL HELP. We have integrated technology into the game, so participants will need a cellphone to play. This takes the live-action detective work to the whole next level. Participants will enter codes throughout the game to validate their decisions and complete the investigation.

About this CaseTHIS IS THE FAIRLAKE BANK HEIST CASE

On Thursday January 27, 2005, a group of three armed perpetrators entered Broadway Savings and Loan to carry out a planned heist. The group managed to steal over 2 million dollars from safety deposit boxes and cash drawers. Original suspects include:

Austin Woods (the pilot)

Neil Turner (the bank manager)

Alex Hartman (the hacker)

Charles Gibson (the professor)

Henry Pratt (the ex-con)

All 5 of these original suspects cooperated with investigators and provided statements and fingerprints. Detectives collected evidence and followed all leads at the time. However, there was not enough evidence to confirm any suspect as the mastermind. The case went cold and the suspect responsible for the heist and three murders is still on the loose. A year and a half later detectives got a break in the case when they arrested an infamous criminal who traffics in stolen goods. The notorious smuggler and trafficker of stolen goods Jimmy Hobbs. He was arrested in possession of a gold watch that was listed among the items stolen during the bank heist in 2005. The lead detective, Vicki P., jumped at the chance to follow this important break in case and questioned Jimmy at the Pr*son. While interviewing Jimmy, she was able to gain valuable information about the heist. In addition, she obtained a map and cypher that was used by the mastermind in the planning of the heist. She believes that the new evidence will be key to identifying the mastermind, seeking justice be served, and bringing closure to all those affected.

Do you have what it takes to crack the case?
