Calling all detectives! Join Us In The Centerpoint Brewery Taproom To Solve A Cold Case: The Addenberg Train Bomber Case

ABOUT THIS EVENT

COLD CASE CRACKERS ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE THE ROLE OF A DETECTIVE TEAM. Participants will try to crack a case that was never solved. On June 29th, detectives will be tackling the Addenberg Train Bomber Case.

MOVE THROUGH THE PHASES OF YOUR INVESTIGATION. This case will be solved by achieving investigation goals given to participants on phase cards. Each phase and task are different, but all are crucial in solving the case. The game requires live action detective work and includes twists and turns you never see coming.

USE THE DOZENS OF DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS ALONG THE WAY. The evidence includes maps, cell phone records, fingerprints, suspect profiles, photos, witness statements, interview transcripts, and much more. Participants never know what piece of evidence you may need or when you will need it. The team of investigators will have to have a keen wit and observant eyes.

ONLINE CODES AND AUDIO CLUES WILL HELP. We have integrated technology into the game, so participants will need a cellphone to play. This takes the live-action detective work to the whole next level. Participants will enter codes throughout the game to validate their decisions and complete the investigation.

Tickets for this event are sold per table. One ticket secures an entire table.

THE ADDENBERG TRAIN BOMBER CASE:

On Sunday June 22, 2003 an unknown person detonated an explosive on a passenger train outside the city of Addenberg, New York. The explosive device killed five people and wounded another eight in the blast. Original suspects include:

• Thomas Albany (the blogger)

• Karen Cole (the conductor)

• Tyler Vaughn (the lieutenant)

• Ed Golic (the political activist)

• Robert Townes (the railyard worker)

All 5 of these original suspects cooperated with investigators and provided statements and fingerprints. However, given the lack of evidence from the bombing, the case has gone cold and the unknown subject responsible for the gruesome attack has escaped justice.

A year and a half later, police managed to find an online server used by the Addenberg bomber. The forensic and technology departments have tried to gain access but were unable to crack into it. The head detective is confident that the files contained on the server are directly from the unknown subject. The bomber had originally sent a threatening letter to the police on June 15, 2003 and another alarming movement in the case came just two days ago on January 17, 2005 when a second letter showed up. Investigators were able to confirm a link between the letters and authenticated the second letter to be from the Addenberg bomber. Like the first letter, it mentioned an attack that will happen in seven days. With only 5 days left, the head detective has enlisted help from the Cold Case Crackers to finally bring justice to the bomber, closure to the families of the victims, and to stop the new bomb from hurting any more innocent people.

Do you have what it takes to crack the case?
