When a bar patron is murdered in the night, it's up to the employees (and a rookie cop) to uncover and apprehend the culprit. Follow the unique ensemble as they explore a night of laughs, betrayals, and jazz-inspired original music, and discover how the threat of death, treachery and authority can cause friends to break apart - right when they need each other most.

M**der Is An Art features a stellar cast of recent graduates from VCA and PSA, with book, music and lyrics by Conor Beaumont and direction by Gabrielle Ward.

FAQs

Do I need to be fully vaccinated to attend?

Yes. In compliance with government requirements, you must have received your second dose before you can attend, and have proof of vaccination (or a valid exemption) in order to enter the building.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The Butterfly Club is a licensed venue. Accordingly, patrons under 18 are only allowed on premises in the company of a parent or legal guardian.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We strongly encourage using public transport. The Butterfly Club is a short stroll from Flinders Street station and Melbourne Central, and an even shorter stroll from any tram that travels through Swanston or Collins Streets (get off at Town Hall).

What's the refund policy?

If you can't attend for Covid-related reasons, you are entitled to a full refund provided you let us know ahead of time.

If the show is cancelled to comply with new restrictions or health directives, you will automatically get a full refund - no need to contact us.

Otherwise there are no refunds: exceptions are made in extraordinary circumstances at the Club's discretion. If there is a sensible reason why you should receive a refund, please contact us and we'll be happy to discuss.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. We have a full record of all attendees and will be able to let you in whether you bring a printed copy of your ticket or not.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes.
