Strengthening Miami’s Leadership in Healthcare & Life Sciences

Miami-Dade continues to advance as a global hub for healthcare and life sciences innovation, and the Healthcare & Life Sciences Advisory Council is where industry leaders help shape that trajectory.

To kickoff the new year with strong mommentum and engagement, Beacon Council members will convene on January 29, for our Advisory Council meeting, bringing together senior voices across healthcare, life sciences, and innovation to align priorities, share insights, and accelerate growth in one of Miami’s most strategic sectors.

⭐ Keynote Highlight
We are pleased to welcome Edna Martinez-Simmons, MBA, a senior global life sciences leader with deep experience across pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, procurement, and global operations, including leadership spans organizations such as Merck and EY-Parthenon, and her perspective on scaling complex life sciences operations is highly relevant as Miami strengthens its position in advanced manufacturing and global health.

🌍 Global Outlook: Miami–Dubai World Health Expo Delegation
The meeting will also feature updates on the Miami–Dubai World Health Expo (WHX) 2026 Trade Mission, a curated delegation connecting Miami’s healthcare and life sciences leaders and investors with:

• UAE regulators and health authorities
• Leading medical universities and research institutions
• Innovation hubs, investors, and global health executives

Delegates will participate in WHX Dubai programming, private roundtables, and high-level meetings designed to unlock research collaboration, market expansion, and investment opportunities.
