MCYU Jan. Family Lecture: Art, Perspective, and How We are All Connected

This Month's Topic: "Art Perspective & How We are All Connected" presented by Teresa Gregorio and Nicole Knibb from the McMaster Museum of Art.

Art helps you understand your place in the world and recognize how connected we all are to each other. Creating art helps you share ideas that are important to you and help you discover question and look critically at the world. Join McMaster Museum of Art educators Teresa Gregorio and Nicole Knibb as we look at artworks from McMaster University’s art collection to see how artists see the world and present their stories as pictures and why this is important for us to consider. We’ll learn about looking wondering and communicating visually like artists do and specifically in this place we live the territories protected by the Dish With One Spoon wampum. You’ll be the artist of your own ‘zine a mini magazine or fanzine about things you’re passionate about and connected to the people(s) and place(s) where we live. 

Time: 11am-12pm

Ages: Geared towards ages 7-14 (Whole family and all ages

welcome)

The MCYU Family Lecture Series is a free monthly event on McMaster's main campus. These lectures are geared toward young individuals ages 7–14 and cover all science technology engineering arts and math (STEAM) topics. The lectures are presented by post-secondary professors who are experts in their field. This is an opportunity for all young individuals to experience what it feels like to be a university student.
