This Month's Topic: "A treasure trove of stories: finding wonder in rare books and archives!" presented by Myron Groover McMaster University's archives and rare books librarian.
Did you know that McMaster University holds one of Canada’s richest collections of rare books and unique historical documents? Join Myron Groover McMaster’s Rare Books Librarian in exploring the wealth of story and human experience reflected in these artefacts. From beautifully illuminated medieval manuscripts to beloved classics of world literature to early printed editions of myths and legends from around the world together we will set sail through the pages of stories new and old to discover what they can tell us about our world ourselves and all those who have had a part in passing them along to us.
Time: 11am-12pm
Cost: Free
Ages: Geared towards ages 7-14 (Whole family and all ages
welcome)
*Please note there will be NO post lecture activity.
The MCYU Family Lecture Series is a free monthly event on McMaster's main campus. These lectures are geared toward young individuals ages 7–14 and cover all science technology engineering arts and math (STEAM) topics. The lectures are presented by post-secondary professors who are experts in their field. This is an opportunity for all young individuals to experience what it feels like to be a university student.
