About this Event
Irish comedy and TV legend Eric Lalor arrives to McSorley's Comedy club to headline our opening night!
McSorley's Comedy Club is having its grand opening on 23rd of November. We will be bringing the names and faces we all recognise into a purpose built venue atop the mythical McSorley's pub
Starting with Irish comedy and tv legend ERIC LALOR!
Award-winning Eric Lalor is one of the most sought after comedians in the country. Having started way back on Des Bishop’s Joy in the Hood, Eric has gone on to forge a successful career in comedy, appearing at all the major comedy festivals and headlining venues up and down the country. Some people will recognise him as the villain from Fair City, the gangster, Cathal Spillane.
Indeed Eric has a number of acting credits including Amber, Brigid & Eamonn, The Commute and COVID based comedy, Socially Distant, plus a number of short films. He has won Irish comedian of the year twice as voted by the readers of entertainment.ie, and now his new podcast, You Must Be Jokin, which he co-hosts with fellow Ballymunner, Willa White, has won Best Podcast at the Digital Media Awards.
Having recently sold out his new one man show, Lol’er By Nature at the Liberty Hall Theatre, Eric is at the top of his game and one of the most reliable comedy acts in the country.
“Eric never fails to crack me up, a great standup’ – Joanne McNally
“Always knew Eric was destined for a career in comedy, an absolute natural” – Des Bishop
“A relentless force of nature” – Irish Independent
“A side-splitting comic who is so relatable” – Dermot Whelan
Joining us on our opening night is another comedy icon, the man who loves jumpers, he loves cake and he may or may not have a willy - EOIN MC LOVE himself Patrick McDonnell, will be here! Patrick is a stand-up comedian and storyteller whose razor-sharp wit and warm stage presence have made him a standout on the Irish comedy circuit. With a knack for turning the everyday absurdities of life into laugh-out-loud moments, Patrick blends observational humour with playful mischief and a touch of poetic charm. Whether he’s riffing on relationships, small-town quirks, or the glorious chaos of being alive, his shows are equal parts clever and chaotic — guaranteed to leave you smiling, thinking, and asking for more.
They are joined by Claire Roche, Anthony O'Reilly and a super special guest . A group of Irelands best up and coming comics!
Hosted by Keego who is ....... BALD. We have him in so we can get the grant money from the EU. Keego will be your tour guide of craic on the night. While getting to know the audience, Keego will be asking questions like, what is the Irish Kama Sutra? Why is it called bottomless brunch and If Usain Bolt is aplauded for finishing in 9.5 seconds, why is Keego not?
Pop along and find out!
