About the Speaker:
Brigadier General Linda J Riedel is a senior Army National Guard officer and nationally recognized leader in cyber operations, communications, and information advantage. Commissioned through Officer Candidate School, she brings nearly three decades of operational, command, and strategic-level experience across the signal, cyber, civil affairs, and joint information domains.
Currently serving as the Assistant Adjutant General for the South Carolina National Guard, BG Linda J Riedel previously held key leadership positions, including Chief of Staff, Joint Force Headquarters–South Carolina, Commander of the 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, and Commander of the 125th Cyber Protection Battalion. Her command experience spans tactical through theater levels, with operational deployments in Iraq, Kosovo, and Kuwait in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and JOINT GUARDIAN, including service as Deputy Chief of Information, U.S. Army Central.
BG Linda J Riedel is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College and the National Defense University’s College of Information and Cyberspace, where he earned a Master of Science in Government Information Leadership. She also holds a Master of Science in Project Management from The Citadel and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina.
In her civilian capacity, BG Linda J Riedel serves as Deputy Director of The Citadel’s Department of Defense Cyber Institute, where she provides senior leadership in advancing the Department of Defense’s national mission to close the cyber workforce gap. In this role, she develops strategic partnerships across DoD agencies, federal and state governments, academia, and industry to build sustainable cyber talent pipelines. Her work includes shaping policy and program vision for the Senior Military College DoD Cyber Institutes Program, expanding internship and experiential learning opportunities, and leading K-12 and National Guard cyber education initiatives. She is also actively involved in designing new academic programs focused on emerging technologies and future national security challenges.
Her awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Action Badge, among numerous other decorations recognizing sustained excellence in leadership and service.
BG Linda J Riedel’s career reflects a consistent focus on mission command in the information environment, bridging operational military requirements with long-term workforce development to ensure the United States maintains a decisive advantage in cyberspace and information operations.
