⚓ HELM (O) – Human Element, Leadership & Management (Operational Level) ⚓
The HELM (O) course is designed to provide education and training in Human Element, Leadership and Management at Operational Level, meeting the syllabus requirements laid down by the UK Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB).
Throughout the course, the emphasis is on developing an understanding of human factors and how leadership and managerial actions influence the practical application of those concepts onboard. Correct application of these principles enhances the safe operation of the vessel and supports the wellbeing and care of everyone onboard.
