MBT for ASPD & NPD with Prof. Anthony Bateman - 2-day Advanced Workshop
About this Event
MBT for ASPD & NPD Workshop - 2 day workshop (In-person)
26th and 27th November 2026, 9am - 4:30pm
Join internationally renowned Mentalization‑Based Treatment (MBT) expert Prof. Anthony Bateman for an exclusive in person advanced two-day workshop exploring specialised applications of MBT.
Description: This advanced workshop focuses on the application of MBT in working with individuals presenting with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), including pathological narcissism.
Participants will explore the relationship between mentalizing difficulties, interpersonal distrust, aggression, and relational dynamics, and how these factors contribute to challenges in engagement and treatment.
The workshop introduces a mentalizing framework for understanding these presentations and outlines practical intervention strategies, including approaches to reducing epistemic distrust, establishing shared focus, and supporting more constructive relational patterns.
Delivered in a participatory format, the workshop includes clinical discussion, role play, and opportunities to reflect on participants’ own clinical experiences.
Who should attend: This workshop is suitable for clinicians working with personality disorder presentations, including those without prior MBT training.
Participants with MBT experience will be better positioned to implement MBT-informed approaches in a structured way. Those without formal training will gain valuable ideas and techniques to enhance their current practice, particularly if they are already working with this client group.
NB: These workshops are designed to extend clinical understanding and inform practice. They are not a substitute for MBT Basic Training or formal certification.
Cost: $750 (payable by credit card only)
Lunch: A light lunch and afternoon tea including a vegetarian selection is provided.
