About this Event

A visit to Maymont isn’t complete without experiencing the Gilded Age home designed by the cosmopolitan millionaire couple, James and Sallie May Dooley. A portable narrated audio guide allows you to explore at your own pace through the richly appointed rooms, which reflect the elegant design and tastes of two prominent, well-educated and well-traveled Richmonders from the turn of the 20th century. Learn more about the people who lived and worked here, balancing technological advances of the time with the labor-intensive operations of a house of this size, including the complicated story of the New South and Jim Crow.

All proceeds benefit Maymont; no refunds. Masks are recommended regardless of vaccination status.
