Concerts are free to attend and you can drop in and out at any time through the day!
The FolkActive Youth Ensemble (FAYE) is a fun, inclusive group for 11–19-year-old musicians, run by FolkActive and supported by the Southampton and Isle of Wight Music Hub. FAYE develops folk skills like playing by ear, improvising and arranging in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The group meets regularly in Southampton and performs at events including Winchester Mayfest, Whitchurch Folk Festival and the EFDSS Youth Folk Takeover.

!nVerse weave enchanting soundscapes from music, songs and poetry performance. They use cello, guitar, flute, piano, clarinet and Northumbrian Pipes to tell their stories and have performed shows based on - among others - the Sea, the 1830 Swing Riots and the Black Death. For MayFest they are joined by the award-winning poet Georgia Hilton

Angling For Farthings (18th century slang for busking) sing traditional folk songs from 19th century Hampshire, accompanied by guitar, ukulele, harmonium and percussion. Audience participation is encouraged!

Southampton Folk Orchestra is an open access group that plays traditional folk music with connections to the local area. The group creates arrangements of tunes together and performs at least once a term.

The Itchen Folk Band are a Compton and Shawford based group who perform folk songs from the British Isles and the US together with contemporary material. The emphasis is on audience participation with lots of choruses to join in!
