Mayan Fire Ceremony & Firewalk w/ New Moon Ecstatic Dance and Medicine Circle

THE FIRE CEREMONY!
The Fire Ceremony is the most important of all the ceremonies to the Mayans.
We live in a fourfold universe. The center of the cross is the center of the world itself, the axis mundi or Tree of Life. To the ancient Maya, the cross was a symbol of the central World Tree from which the four directions emanated.
As part of the ceremony we will build the altar and decorate with many different types of offerings, until it is piled high. Additionally, flowers are often placed just outside the altar at each of the four directions and with the appropriate colors: Red = East, Black = West (since black flowers are rare, purple is commonly substituted), White = North, Yellow = South. Flowers are used as an altar decoration; they are gifts to the gods because of their beautiful fragrance and colors, an aromatic perfume for them.
These offerings are a way of giving food and life to Mother Earth. While feeding Mother Earth, the participants also feed themselves. The Fire Ceremony gives life and energy to all those who take part. We sustain our lives by sustaining Mother Earth.
You will each adorn this altar with our gifts of Gratitude.
Your Gratitude Bundle is to be made prior to arriving on the land. It is a gift that will be burned in a sacred way. This is a ceremony of bounty, given to the spirits in appreciation for all that they do and all that they are. Great extravagance and flare are called upon for this ceremony! Put your heart into it; imbue your gift with love.
Gifts are to be made of burnable materials. Use your imagination and put the powerful intention of THANK YOU, GRATITUDE, and REVERENCE into your gift. Possibilities are food, cloth, things made from the forest, prayer ties, and pictures. No wire or metal. (People will be walking on this fire afterwards and we need to be safe!)
We will give offerings and then light the fire. Then you will receive your choice of hape, Sananga or cacao to call in the medicine that you need for this evening. We will explain and have reverence for the power of each of these sacred plants.
THE FIREWALK!
The path of the soul is a path of movement and transformation. To transform is to release fear and open one’s self to the pure potential that awaits our call. It begins with an intention, and grows as an honored awareness of who we are and who we can become. Transformation represents a transition from one state to another, much like the butterfly emerging from the chrysalis. Fire is this type of transformation.
Our own experiences and perceptions lead us to believe there is a reason or a need to transform our selves. Some people are quite content in their lives, not questioning the internal road blocks that may be in the way of personal growth and the attainment of a joyous life. We each see our lives through the filter or “lens” of our own experiences. This lens is made up of components that reside in the conscious and unconscious realms.
As we approach the process of transformation, our ego may raise road blocks. This is a natural occurrence. I will teach you how to walk in oneness with the fire and safely across the fire.
One of our goals in the firewalk ceremony is to take a conscious look at our lens and decide if there are things in our life we want to release or transform. We will then rise like the Phoenix out of the ashes of death as we transform our lives with intention.
The firewalk changes our whole concept of what is possible, what we believe we can and can not do. Through the act of walking on fire, the world of possibilities becomes more infinite. This experience is truly life changing and deserves to be approached with reverence.
EMBODIED EXPRESSION ECSTATIC DANCE
Embodied Expression Ecstatic Dance is sacred space to fully express our most authentic selves, through creative movement, dance, and vibrations, to say what words cannot say and entering our truth.
The Greek term ecstasis (meaning “to stand outside oneself”) is the etymological mother of our English words ecstasy and ecstatic. Ecstasis (also spelt ekstasis) is a moment of insight; it is a moment of total immersion in being. To stand outside of, or transcend the ego.
This journey of concious free form movement & ecstatic dance paired with carefully curated musical landscape guides you on a journey into the layers of your being.
Come as you are, and sink into this sacred space of freedom, safety and celebration. Dance yourself into your most authentic bliss of nature, as we dance barefoot in the meadow, and celebrate our divine being that we are and express our most authentic selves.

YOu naturally come down to a resting position and be guided through concious breathwork & an opportunity to share in community about your exploration.
*** PLEASE NOTE****It is not mandatory to walk on the fire but to SHOW up to the fire and ask the FIRE what it has for you. Walking is the decision each person makes after sitting with the fire. For some it is enough to pour their offerings into it and receive he messages from sitting with it.
