Rooted in the Mayan Cosmovision, journey between the 3 worlds to reveal what's held inside, guided by the medicine of Ixcacao.
About this Event

Please arrive by 12.45pm.
An afternoon to receive ceremonial cacao as medicine straight from the heart land of Guatemala. This is a very special ceremony, with Cacao at the centre guiding the journey through the 3 worlds and informed by the energy of the day according to Mayan spirituality.
Today is the day of 9 (Belejeb’) Tijax the obsidian knife with the double edged blade. One side can heal, the other can harm, this is a constant awareness of cultivation. How do we use our obsidian blade? 9 relates to subtlety, magick, what is hidden and what is revealed. To life, to nature and intelligence and our power to change.

"Tijax is the day sign of the Obsidian, an extremely sharp natural glass formed by volcanic activity that among the Maya is most prized by diviners and warriors.

Like obsidian that embodies the forces of nature that forged it, Tijax symbolizes the power of thunder and lightning. Like obsidian, Tijax is sharp yet fragile, difficult to polish and manipulate, and cuts to the core of things with all the force of integrity.

It cuts not only through deception, evil, and negative energies, but also physical illness. For this reason it is an auspicious sign for healers, surgeons and doctors – for all matters of health and wellness, medicine and curing of disease." –Brigitte Rasine
Learn more about the Mayan worldview as an interconnected spirituality and be guided through the under, middle and upperworlds relating to the energies held in each.
Experience your relationship with each world and embody and embrace the knowledge found and received there. Perhaps a deeper understanding will be discovered.
Sound instruments will be used to support your journey including gongs, shruti, frame drum, chimes and singing bowls.

Practicals

This is ceremony and we will be sharing prayers and intentions around the sacred altar. Please do not step over or on the altar.

Dress for ceremony respectfully and comfortably.

Feel welcomed to bring offerings for the altar like flowers, seeds and candles for instance. You are also invited to bring any significant objects to place on the altar to be charged and taken home afterwards.

Bring a note book in case you would like to record any reflections and insights.

Dont forget your special cup for Cacao. Be thoughtful with what you would like to drink from and what it represents. Let it hold meaning for you.

You will be drinking organic, ceremonial cacao ethically sourced from Guatemala. Ceremonial Cacao in her pure form like this is full of super nutrients, antioxidants and minerals.
The active compounds of theobromine and anandamide to name just two, are emotional regulators, uplifting the mood and gently directing the body into a bliss state where pain and inflammation are reduced as well as enhancing focus.

Ceremonial Cacao does contain around 0.2% caffeine which equates to about 6-10mg per cup. Ceremonial Cacao also contains an amazing amount of healthy fat, around 50% which means the small amount of caffeine it contains is released differently into the bloodstream. Much more slowly.
If you are caffeine sensitive or are taking any medications that could be affected, you can drink just half a cup. Please reach out to clarify or check with your physician if needed.

There are yoga mats and blankets available at the studio but do bring anything else to support your comfort.

Doors will be open from 12.45 please arrive promptly and on time. Doors will be closed at 1pm. This is ceremony so once we start, there will be no late admittance.

Please no phones. Pictures can be taken at the beginning before we start and after we have finished. Please switch off your phone during the ceremony.

Cacao to me is like a very dear friend who has become family. The more I work with her, the deeper our relationship grows. I am very animist in my way of being and really treasure and honour the spirit of all things. This is how I interact with Cacao. I speak to her Spirit and I wait for her to speak to me. She has become a subtle and powerful presence in my life. One I love to share and keep relating to.

I offer this Mayan Cacao Ceremony with reverence and veneration for all i've been given and shown along the path. For all the teachings that were shared with me during a deep immersion in Guatemala with Lava Love Cacao. I am eternally grateful for these transmissions and I am committed to representing them respectfully and keeping them alive through direct experience. I give so much thanks to Nana Izabel, Nana Ix & Tata Izaias for their generosity, hard work and dedication to the beautifying medicine of Cacao and the wider world vision that brings more peace and harmony. I bow to Ixcacao and bow down always to the Great Spirit of all things, to Pachamama and the life she gives.
