Join us for our 2nd Ruck of the season. We will meet at 6AM this time! Meet at CrossFit West Des Moines for a short warm up, then on the trail! We will have a set distance that we will walk that morning. You can expect the ruck to take approximately 1-1:30 hours. In most cases we will stay as a group but for the 1st ruck, there will also be options to make the ruck shorter if need be.
Rucking is a form of exercise that involves walking or hiking a set distance while carrying a weight on your back. The name “rucking” comes from the word rucksack, which refers to a durable backpack designed for carrying heavy loads.
Rucking is rooted in military training and is a workout that improves both your cardiovascular system and muscle strength.
You will carry a weighted rucksack or backpack as they walk.
Don't have a rucksack? That's ok.
You can use various items to add resistance to your backpack, such as gym plates, water bottles, books, or any heavy objects you find around your home1.
