Come and join SESD SHRM at Mount Marty to learn more about Innovation & Strategy with Mitchell Tech Instructor Dr. Ryan Van Zee!
Innovation is a journey that begins with a spark: identifying a problem or unmet need. This is followed by a brainstorming session, where a multitude of creative solutions are explored. The true magic, however, happens when these ideas converge. By combining different approaches, we can unlock entirely new possibilities, transforming what began as several ideas into a single, groundbreaking innovation. In this presentation, you will define a problem you'd like to solve within the next month. We will then brainstorm solutions and walk through a creative problem-solving process to see what kind of innovations you develop.
Dr. Ryan Van Zee is an instructor at Mitchell Tech in Mitchell, South Dakota. He is currently developing the new curriculum for the Leadership Academy and Entrepreneurship Program. Dr. Van Zee collaborates with business leaders in the region to increase leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Previously, he served as the Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Kelley Center for Entrepreneurship at Dakota Wesleyan University, also in Mitchell, South Dakota. Dr. Van Zee holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern State University, a Master of Arts degree from California State University, and a Doctoral Degree from the University of South Dakota.
