Presented by Dan Coates
Rock art has occurred around the world and studied by scientists. There are rocks, in four known sites in the Lower Susquehanna River, with petroglyphs carved in them and each site is unique, because it has different carvings on them. Some have been rescued from the river before the dams were built and some can still be explored on the water, via canoes or kayaks. There is rock art in the Allegheny River drainage in Western Pennsylvania that will be compared to the Susquehanna River rocks in this presentation. Come to the last general DMS meeting of Spring 2023, to hear what we have in our own backyard.
Free and open to the public. Social time begins at 6:30. Talk at 7. Club business to follow.
