About this Event
The local bush surrounding Perth in the late 1800s inspired the acclaimed author and illustrator, May Gibbs, to create her well loved characters Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and the big, bad Banksia men and the magical stories she told. You'll be fascinated by the stories of her interesting life and the WA plants that she used in creating her characters.
Date: Friday 23rd September or Friday 30th September
Start Time: 11am sharp. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early
Meeting Location: Lawn opposite Aspects of Kings Park Gallery Shop
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This walk is up to 1.5 hours in duration and approximately 1.5 km.
Moderate to easy degree of difficulty with some uphill and downhill lawn.
This walk is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or mobility aids. We encourage you to contact the Visitors Information Centre (9480 3634) to ensure that we can meet your needs.
Comfortable enclosed walking shoes recommended.
Bring sunscreen, hat and water and a raincoat (weather dependent).
This walk will go ahead if it is raining but in the event of severe weather it may be cancelled. Check the notices section of the Kings Park website https://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/kings-park for cancellation information.
BOOKINGS AND CANCELLATION: To give walkers the best experience our numbers are limited and booking is required. We ask that you please cancel prior to the day if you know you will not be able to attend. Hopefully there will be another day that will suit you.
