The next Cook for a Cause will be held on Monday, May 20th with the LightHouse Women & Children's Center, as well as volunteering serving with Hope Rescue Mission. Meet time is 10:30AM. Lunch is served at 11:30. This opportunity is a two-for-one and with the outpouring response in February we are looking for quite a few participants. We will be providing lunch and serving at the LightHouse (715 N 6th St, Reading). We are also looking for volunteers to head over across the lot to Hope Rescue Mission to serve the lunch they will be having that day. BWIM is only providing lunch for LightHouse, but with enough volunteers we are hoping to lend a hand at both locations.
****We would like to do a Pizza Party for the women and children at the LightHouse, with an estimated number of 40-45 we will be serving. (update to this number will be given closer to the event) Pizza Party includes: pizza, variety of individual snack bags, side salad, water/soda.**** With our May Potluck Mix n' Mingle event that will be held on May 14 at Ridgewood Winery, it will be $5/person to attend. All funds raised at that event and any other monetary donations will go towards the Pizza Party, as well as future Cook for a Cause events in 2024 to help offset food costs.
