About the Blueberry Gleaning
The NCSU Horticultural Crops Research Station in Castle Hayne is one of the premier research facilities for the production of blueberries. Following the initial harvest and crop assessments, the remaining blueberries often go to waste in the field. We'll be picking these blueberries and donating them to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.
If you would like to volunteer, please bring the following:
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen
- A Hat
- Bucket to collect blueberries.
Volunteer hours are available for this event. **4-H Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.** (See below for minor photo release statement.)
