ONE EARTH, OUR HOME, Victoria
Presented in collaboration with the Jon O'Riordan Foundation and Ballet Victoria
"One Earth, Our Home" invites audiences on a powerful musical journey celebrating the beauty, fragility, and resilience of the natural world. Presented in collaboration with the Jon O'Riordan Foundation, Creative Pathways Academy, and Ballet Victoria, the program explores our profound connection to the Earth through music that reflects on the elements, forests, ecosystems, the changing seasons, and our shared responsibility as stewards of the planet.
At the heart of the concert is the world premiere of a major new commission by Victoria composer Stuart Beatch, written especially for Capriccio Vocal Ensemble. The journey continues with music that honours Indigenous perspectives on the land, contemplates the fleeting beauty of nature, expands our gaze to the wonder of the cosmos, and concludes with a message of hope, renewal, and collective responsibility. Featuring music by Katerina Gimon, Stuart Beatch, Sheryll Sewepagaham, Eriks Ešenvalds, Stephanie Martin, Ola Gjeilo, and Scott MacMillan.
One Earth, Our Home is a moving celebration of our shared planet and an invitation to reflect on our place within it.
