Summer Fun Reversible Velcro Wrap Skirt – 3 Hours

Finally—an apparel class made just for the beach. Join Renee’s Stitch & Style School for this hands-on 3-hour workshop where you’ll learn how to read and lay out a sewing pattern, and sew a reversible wrap skirt with a Velcro closure. Two looks means double the style, perfect for beach days, vacations, or just feeling fabulous all summer long.
This class is a great next step for students ready to move beyond basics and start garment construction. Sewing Machine Basics is a prerequisite you should feel comfortable with the fundamentals of using a sewing machine.
What you’ll need to purchase:
New Look 6456 (available on Simplicity.com)
1 5/8 yards woven cotton or cotton blend (print)
1 5/8 yards woven cotton or cotton blend (solid for reverse side)
Coordinating thread
½ yard lightweight fusible interfacing
Sew-in Velcro
Yardage is based on a knee-length skirt; additional length may require extra fabric. Keep in mind—this skirt is reversible, so have fun choosing fabrics that pair well together.
For added convenience, a limited number of fabric kits featuring Lilly-inspired prints will be available for $45 (pattern included). Students will be contacted in advance with available options.

All equipment is provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine.
By the end of class, you’ll leave with a stylish, custom-made wrap skirt and the skills to confidently approach future apparel projects.

Do you need to make a design choice for this work shop? You will need to purchase fabric or a kit. Kit must be purchases by May 16th

· Any special needs seating or other arrangements must be requested in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
If you are registering for more than just yourself, you must make your guest aware of all the information included in this registration.

Cancellation policy: You will receive a credit toward another SMP class by the artist teaching/ hosting the workshop you registered for, if he or she is notified of cancellation at least one week prior to class date, No Shows will not be credited or refunded. Any credits issued will need to be applied to a class within 6 months!
Classes canceled by the Host or SMP will be eligible for credit or refund.
