May 2 - Workshop - School Communities Preventing Vaping

Vaping prevention and quitting are key measures in addressing the growing number of incidents being reported among school-aged children. To help address this challenge, the Edmonton Zone Population Health Promotion Team is hosting a workshop to explore how the comprehensive school health approach can be used to address student vaping.

This workshop will provide school health champions with a thorough understanding of potential activities to incorporate into their vaping prevention strategy (action plan) for the school year. Participants will explore how to develop a multi-pronged approach, that engages every member of the school community in the efforts towards vaping prevention and quitting. Additionally, participants will gain access to new planning documents designed to aid in the creation and implementation of a vaping prevention plan.

This workshop will take place in the Alberta Health Services Allied Health offices at room #1038 (main floor of the mall near the lottery kiosk, directly below the foodcourt).
