Join us for a timely panel discussion, as we delve into the aftermath of two of the most notorious cases of our time—Weinstein and Maxwell.
About this Event

With the rise of the #MeToo movement and a heightened awareness of abuse of power, this event brings together extraordinary voices who have not only survived but thrived in the wake of trauma. Through personal stories, advocacy, and cultural shifts, these speakers continue to push for change and accountability on a global scale. This event is not just a reflection on the high-profile cases of Weinstein and Maxwell, but an opportunity to explore the resilience of survivors and the global movements they’ve inspired. Through open dialogue and critical reflection, we will examine:

  • The transformative power of storytelling: How do personal narratives like Rowena’s and Lucia’s help dismantle systems of abuse and inspire activism?
  • The role of media and film in shaping public perception: What are the responsibilities of artists like Angela Yeoh in bringing these stories to life, and what impact do these portrayals have on societal change?
  • Legal reforms and advocacy efforts: How can we ensure that future generations are protected, and what steps are needed to improve systemic accountability?

Meet the Panellists:

  • Rowena Chiu: A former assistant to Harvey Weinstein, Rowena was instrumental in exposing his crimes, leading to his conviction. Her story was brought to life in the film "She Said," based on the book by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Rowena’s powerful testimony has ignited crucial conversations about abuse in positions of power.
  • Angela Yeoh: Angela portrayed Rowena Chiu in "She Said”, and has long been an advocate for gender equity. Working across film, TV and theatre, she has always been passionate about the power of stories to shine light in dark places, surprise audiences, reveal truth, and inspire change. Before becoming an actor, Angela worked as an international reporter and documentary filmmaker based in Australia, Brazil, France and China.
  • Lucia Osborne-Crowley: Award-winning journalist and author of The Lasting Harm: Witnessing the Trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, Lucia brings a deep understanding of the trauma and systemic failures tied to Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. Her work sheds light on the intersection of mental health, women’s rights, and legal reform.

This panel is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand from the women who have turned their trauma into global movements for justice. As we reflect on the legacies of #MeToo and look ahead to future feminist movements, their insights will inspire, challenge, and ignite action in anyone passionate about gender equality, legal reform, and the future of advocacy. Chaired by:

  • Begina Cox: Founder of Limitless Bee and Senior Development Executive at Brasenose College, Begina has interviewed leading voices like Rowena Chiu on https://www.limitlessbee.com/beeinspired and is dedicated to fostering conversations that empower change.

Be part of a conversation that not only reflects on the past but shapes the future. Together, we can continue to transform trauma into a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change. Reserve your spot today!

The event is co-organised by Limitless Bee Consulting and Blackwell’s. All proceeds from this event go to the Centre for Women’s Justice.
