Karu Terenzio
Karu was born in a small town of Entre Ríos, Argentina, into a family of musicians. She shared stage with her siblings dancing Argentine folklore in folk clubs. Karu was only 5 years old and every Saturday, she would stand at the door of the Tango Academy to watch people dance, until one day she dared to enter and fell completely in love with this dance. She danced throughout her childhood and teen years, performing in neighboring states, until she moved to Buenos Aires at the age of 18 to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional tango dancer.
Maxi Copello
Maxi Copello was born into a tango family. As a child, he would accompany his father to the theater, sitting in the lighting booth, watching each performance with awe and admiration. At some point in his life, curiosity or his genes won out, and tango became his greatest passion. Since then, he has directed and acted in tango films and has traveled the world teaching and dancing tango.
Maxi and Karu began dancing together in 2023. Fate put them on the same path. When they danced together for the first time, the description was of flying for both of them. The world around them disappeared, and in a hug, they knew they had found a dream, a home. It was the embrace that would unite them for a long time, in life and in tango. Since then, they began dancing together. They have toured Europe twice, in different countries such as Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium. They also competed together for the first time in the Tango World Championship, reaching the final. And currently, they are beginning a new adventure of dance and life in the United States, with a long way to go.
