Max Wareham & The National Bluegrass Team

Max Wareham is a Boston-based banjo player, songwriter, and author whose music blends traditional bluegrass with a lo-fi indie folk sensibility. A longtime member of the Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, he appears on Rowan's Grammy-nominated album Calling You From My Mountain alongside Billy Strings and has performed at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, MerleFest, and RockyGrass. He also fronts his own group, The National Bluegrass Team, bringing shows that move from intimate storytelling to high-energy ensemble playing. His new album, If The Cosmos Were Whiskey…, is out June 19, 2026.
