Come and celebrate the birthday of Sir Douglas Mawson and connect with one of Australia’s most remarkable Antarctic stories.
Join us for a special community day at the Mawson’s Huts Replica Museum. This is a great opportunity for locals and families to engage with Antarctic history in a relaxed and accessible setting.
Throughout the day, visitors can explore the museum, learn about the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, and experience what life was like at Cape Denison. Our team will be on hand to share insights into Mawson’s legacy and the ongoing conservation work in Antarctica.
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬: take part in our scavenger hunt and, once completed, head into the snow tent as part of the Mobile Antarctic Classroom experience.
The Mobile Antarctic Classroom (MAC) will be on site from 10am to 1pm, offering a hands-on and interactive way for younger audiences to connect with Antarctic science and exploration.
