Maurice Louca: Live music and Q&A

We are delighted to invite you to e-flux for an evening of music and conversation with Egyptian musician Maurice Louca who is in town for a brief period for his first North America tour in a decade. We will hear Maurice perform one of the two sets he prepared for his tour, after which he will be in conversation with writer and e-flux journal editor Brian Kuan Wood.

We will end the evening with an afterparty at Bar Laika and a DJ-set with Brooklyn local Yara Bey.

Maurice Louca is an avant jazz and electronic musician based in Cairo. He recently released his fourth studio album Saet El Hazz. Some of the projects he’s known for include the Dwarfs of East Agouza, Karkhana, Lekhfa, Alif, and Bikya. Over the last decade he has toured extensively in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, and composed music for different mediums including dance, visual arts, and theater.
